Re: Live 10 System Requirements ... can't find anywhere.
That's actually lame for me - on mavericks here and quite happy OSX 10.9.5 This is a very expensive and weak update from my perspective as a professional recordist and mixer - all I really want is the group feature and for the indexing to not suck the life out of every move I make, plus multiple aud...

Re: Authorising LIve 9 Suite
Authorization is timing out here as well in Canada - Why does Ableton always screw simple things up?

Plugin Automation turns itself off???
Ok, this is something which has bothered me for a long time, but I have never gotten to the bottom of. Some plug-ins - particularly the Sound Toys bundle, keep overriding the automation, like I had just tweaked a parameter live, but I haven't. It is particularly annoying, as I'm never sure if the so...

Re: 10.6 Snow Leopard Ableton Performance
I think these huge performance gains just must be the Live cpu meter reading very differently (or maybe the processor scaling works differently now) - Ableton itself says that the program will not take advantage of any of grand central station or gpu processing, above and beyond what has been there ...

Re: 8.04 can suck my %*^&@
I have been politely asked by ableton to "deSwear" my post, so that's the reason for the edit. Just to be clear - I actually love Live 8 and have had very few problems when using 8.03 - so few that I though that I could upgrade recklessly and all would be well - Live 8.04 seems to be bad for my comb...

8.04 can suck my %*^&@
after a day of trying to work professionally with 8.04 screwing me over every few minutes and quitting at the slightest provocation may I officially say "@#$% you" to this update - I am going back to 8.03

Re: Headphones Recommendations
I like grado and Audio-Technica, but the "best kept secret" in headphones has got to be Equation Audio - http://www.equationaudio.com/ Their low end EP 3070 competes with my love with all the other headphones I have owned and used (AT, Grado, AKG, Sony). It is a very "dry" sounding headphone with sl...

Re: The AAC - MP3 - WAV Challenge!
In an interesting twist, I compared a 320 mp3 version of the Ting Tings "That's Not My Name" with the Aiff from the cd and found that the mp3 was brighter and slightly more exciting sounding (much like what I found with the MGMT) - some kind of artifact of the encoding process??? Sounds almost like ...

Re: The AAC - MP3 - WAV Challenge!
I was one of the people who got the test "wrong" - The wav sounded the thinnest - why I dont know, but maybe this is some result of encoding such a heavily clipped master??? BTW I run a studio doing full time recording and producing with bands and I have a great monitoring set-up with proper acousti...

Re: microKontrol - automap to Live
Well, I followed all of the direction from that thread, tried setting everything up the same, tried 2 more ways, followed the ableton "lesson" tutorial and still no luck - I can easily do maunal mappings and my midi communication is working fine, but this automap controller mode just does not happen...

Re: The AAC - MP3 - WAV Challenge!
I will do this tomorrow when I get to the studio and can listen in my regular environment - MGMT may not be the best choice to show the differences in encoding though, as they have VERY heavily limited masters, which removes a lot of the depth that full quality files exhibit - maybe the classical tr...

microKontrol - automap to Live
Yo Midi Lords: Mr mouse here - just wondering if there is an easy way to have Live AUTOMATICALLY recognize my MK. By this I mean kind of like Reasons automap - can it works that whatever rack instrument I have highlighted, will magically have the knobs mapped, pads play drums sounds, etc - I know ho...

Re: Look at this fucking hipster...
Not everyone there looked so bad - some look like they might be out of it (fucking hipsters indeed), but some people had a nerd zen going on - what the fuck do you, so superior, post rave beat junkies look like:) I myself am not at the height of fashion as I work on my computer producing music all d...
