Re: Help identifying sound.
Sounds like an organ type sound where you keep the mid-range partials but remove the lowest sines.
Something like Avenger could do this, or MPowerSynth, anything where you can manually draw in all the partials yourself. mess around until you get something you like.
Thanks
I found something ...

Help identifying sound.

This might be difficult. I'm trying to pinpoint a sound. It sounds definitely digital, I'm guessing from a 80s-90s Rompler/synth like an M1 or something.

Re: Audio effects for vocals
Does anyone have suggestions for audio effects that can give a vocal track more "body"? (Sorry, I'm not sure of a better way to describe what I mean).
Sometimes I find it helpful to duplicate a vocals track and add Simple Chorus to the second track.
When I think of "Body" I think of low mid ...

Re: Push 2 capabilities vs Push 3
I used to own the 2, and was eyeing the 3, but realistically i want to use the push to do Elektron style pwr step parameter locks. If anyone doesn't know what i mean, using the push to create sequences then pressing and holding down notes to change parameters per step, i remember even just simple ...

Re: How to commit audio effects
Beware that Freeze and Flatten is Track based not clip based. So it will render the whole track.
Commit (or Bounce in Place as other Daws call it) per clip is not possible in Live.
While not possible in theory there are a few workarounds.
Freeze then copy range of clip to audio track is ...

Re: Plug ins question
I got some new plug ins, I notice that some of them come in Auv2 VST3 and VSt2 . When I look at the plug ins in my folders I see multiple copies of some in Auvs Vst 2 and Vst 3 .
Is it Ok to leave all three types of plug ins or delete two so I only have ONE plug in per plug in type??
Thx R
It ...

Re: Is There Anything for Me in Ableton 12??
I spent a good deal of time yesterday and today watching videos about the new features of Ableton 12 and I'm struggling with whether there's anything for me to gain in this release. I do a lot of MIDI recording but it's a more traditional studio approach in which I record tracks direct through ...

Re: ASIO4ALL driving me crazy
I have installed ASIO4ALL v2.15 to use with Ableton 11. I am using Windows 11 on an Intel i5-1135G7 with 4 cores and 16GB of RAM. Intel Smart Sound Technology.
No matter what I try, the crackling and popping sounds are very much present. I've modified sampling rates, increased / decreased the ...

Re: Live 12 reference manual DISCONTINUED BOOOOOO
I guess times are changing.
An actual book format like pdf or kindle seems to best for really reading something, over a web page even on a smartphone, but maybe that's because we are more familiar with books.
I guess if the online manual was more interactive, video links, exercises, quizzes etc ...

Re: Live 12 reference manual DISCONTINUED BOOOOOO
I am very disappointed that there will not be a PDF manual of Ableton Live 12.
I'm new to Ableton, and I use the pdf manual to learn the program on my ereader while commuting to work.
It can't be that hard to convert HTML to PDF? Or EPUB...
Please reconsider!
I agree the pdf is great when ...

Re: Live 12 reference manual DISCONTINUED BOOOOOO
I have to agree. It's nice to have a PDF manual open alongside DAW software (e.g. Reaper, Cubase).
That way I can do DAW stuff while offline.
Maybe there's a way to save the online manual away for offline use?
Most pdf converters allow you to print a screen to pdf.
Probably not fun to do ...

Re: Ableton arrangement window is a MESS
Thanks for replying - Sorry to differ but the midi editor does have warp markers. If you select an area warp markers appear.
And yes changes to clips in either session view or the other way round dont transfer - you have to copy your clip across.
Editing audio in session view is a pain cause ...

Re: Any VST to improve in Ableton ?
I'm not fussy about details, and I want to keep things simple by sticking to Ableton stuff. But one thing that makes a huge fast difference to the overall sound is plonking a Valhalla reverb on the master track (sorry if that's an audio sin). It makes a night and day difference compared to the ...
