Re: Choke Groups

Re: Choke Groups

I'd like to see some sort of global choke command that makes the entire drum rack mono.

I use the drum racks for my sample chops and get annoyed having to go through each chain object and set the choke for each cell after I've dragged my chopped sample into the rack from the arrangement view (using ...

Re: Akai MPD and MPK pad mods - tips for better pad sensitivity

Great tip.

Word of advice. For those of you don't wanna deal with electrical tape, about a year ago I did this mod on my MPC 1000 (suffers from same issue) but all I did was use stationary dots (the office supply ones, ya know the little circle colored dots). I made stacks of about 8 and stuck them ...

Arjun I know exacty what you are talking about.

Try to load the samples you want to cut each other off into Sampler, and set the voices/polyphony to "1" so that only one can play at a time, thus cutting the previous sound off.

Or do this in something like Battery and/or Kontakt where voice groups ...

Thanks guys I just ended up either sticking with my akai s950, or when I actually wanna use Sampler, I just do it the "hard way" (setting key and root range for every new sample in a sampler module). I am used to this method because of my old hardware.

Golden Era hip hop is simply timeless. It will always move you. Its like saying Miles Davis or John Coltrane or David Axelrod compositions are out of style because they are old. I was just listening to Main Ingredient and Mecca and the Soul Brother from Pete and CL and man those albums are near 12 ...

Thats not a trick. Thats the actual method

Since the ensoniq mirage, this is the method of creating a one shot.

with the newer samplers "one shot mode' is just a macro for the envelope method.

I own an Ensoniq EPS16+ as well, so I understand that for many older pieces of gear you do this ...

Yea, thats really odd you have to do "tricks" in order to do something as simple as trigger it in a one shot fashion. I guess I will just stick to loading up an instance of Battery and Kontakt.

One shot mode in Sampler?

Forgive my noobness if I am overlooking something plainly obvious. I have searched the manual in pdf format in addition to this forum.

A buddy of mine is slowly convincing me to switch over to Ableton as a tool to work along aside my trusty e-mu sp1200/akai s950 combo. I was using the "Sampler ...
