How to make Multichannel XNodes x/y position midi mappable?

Hi, I'm new to M4L and I'm interested in modifying the existing Multichannel SendsXNodes device to make the position of the yellow dot midi mappable. I know that the position of the yellow dot can be controlled via the azimuth and distance controls, but those values don't translate nicely to linear ...

Yes that would be considered the knob jitter. I assigned stuff in live and knobs kept moving on their own. I thought maybe they need to update the OS but it seems that it is a hardware issue since they want me to return the device to them. Also some of the knobs about 4 of them flat out don't work ...
