Help automating infinite rotarys on MPD24

Im quite new to ableton live and Im trying to automate parameters like pan to control with my akai mpd24 knobs but all Im getting is jumping values and knobs definetively not working properly. Could someone please help me.

When you assign a MIDI control in Live, you'll see a pull down menu at the bottom left of the screen for different types of control, e.g. "absolute (14-bit)". It sounds like yours is set to the wrong type, so try the others to find the one that works best.

You most likely have a faulty MPD24.
