wow, thanks for the detailed reply! I appreciate that very much. I didn't realize that this topic was pounded already. Not sure if I am not using the search correctly or not, but it sure doesn't seem to find what I am searching for.
I was leaning towards the 410 because I have the Solo now and it ...

External sound device for a laptop
I asked this question in another post, but no one responded so thought I would try with a new thread.
I have an M-Audio Firewire Solo I am using for my sound device with Live and playing MP3's from my laptop. It only has 2 outputs. I need at least 3. One for the click and 2 for all the audio stereo ...

What do you use for a sound card? I assume most people use laptops on stage for a live situation. What is the best audio device to buy for a laptop? I get a lot of clicks and pops and one of my books explain how to get rid of that. I'm not so sure it's Live causing it because I get it through iTunes ...

Yeah, I agree on the stereo suggestion. I have the M-Audio Solo so I thought I would make it work for the time being. I will certainly upgrade it, but I came across that Mackie and thought that thing would be PERFECT to handle all my current needs. My band is not that sophisticated nor are we all ...

Thanks a lot for the help. There doesn't appear to be a way to route via the headphone output through the M-Audio software so I will need to pick up a new device with more outputs.

Click Track question
Hi. I am brand new to Ableton Live. I realize the question I am about to ask is the basis of Live and should be obvious, but I don't understand how to make it happen. I am using Live for live performances. I play bass so I use the foot controller to trigger a clip in Live. My question is, how do I ...

I purchased all the items that I listed above and now my Ableton Live software keeps telling me that I need "Sampler" to use my BigFish instruments I bought. That is an additional $200 on top of the $500 I just spent. Am I doing something wrong here by chance? When I called Ableton and BigFish to ...

So a "midi controller" is the foot controller then? I thought kennerb was referring to some other software or hardware I needed? Not the case?
All I am looking to do is create some clips that I can call up live on stage. We don't have a Banjo/Mandolin/Steel Guitar player so I need to record these ...

"Once you assign the clip to a note or key then you can use whatever midi controller that you want to "fire" that clip."
Can you explain what this means? I thought all I needed was Ableton Live. What is a midi controller? I thought that was what Ableton Live was? What do you mean by "fire that clip ...

Hello group...sorry to keep bugging you all, but I wonder if my question isn't clear or have I posted in the wrong area of the forum? Sorry to sound impatient, but I need to place an order this morning for all this stuff. I have been told that you are the experts so I am hoping for some feedback ...
