A quick question:

I'm currently running Live 4 on a Powerbook G4 1.25Ghz. I've got the opportunity to pick up a Macbook pretty cheap and i wanted to know - would a bottom of the range Macbook running Live 6 perform better/faster than my current Powerbook ?

Really interesting thread this, since i'm a fan of pretty much every band that has been mentioned and all for different reasons. To me, Portishead and Massive Attack are the sound of part of my life, as is Bjork and DJ Shadow, and more recently Lamb in the latter and final stages of their career ...
