Small Internal SSD w/ external HD vs. Large Internal SSD
I always hear that when producing music, it's a good idea to keep your system stuff and applications on your internal drive, and your sample library on an external. ease of use? Operator or FM8
Which FM softsynth would be a better tool for someone new to synthesis? Which would help them gain a better grasp of fm synthesis more quickly and give them more aid in the learning process?

fully customizing the sidebar in ableton 9
I want to remove the menus on the sidebar that seem unremovable (such as packs, max for live, sounds menu, drums menu, user library menu, etc.) When I right click those items, I'm not given the option to remove from sidebar. Is there a more techy way i could remove them? Something I can delete in ...

Re: using repitch mode with simple delay; sync rather than time
You could do the following:
1. Set project tempo to something nice and round (e.g. 120 bpm)
2. Automate the time parameter to the right values (e.g. using http://www.thewhippinpost.co.uk/tools/delay-time-calculator.htm )
3. Freeze the track and copy the audio. As long as the clip is warped, the ...

using repitch mode with simple delay; sync rather than time
I recently learned a neat trick with delays and repitch mode. It can create some pretty cool sounds by putting delays in repitch mode, time rather than sync, and adjusting the delay time.
But I'd like to be able to keep the delay in sync while using this mode, and in a way that's easier and more ...
