Re: Rewire no longer supported - damn

It seems to me that Ableton are doing the best they can under the circumstances - making it still available to those who are willing to dig for it, but not officially supporting it. It's like there are plenty of software programs that work just fine with Windows 7, but companies won't officially ...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions

Regarding the post about taking the "weird wings" off...the APC40 is not something you want to take apart. For the review I did, I wanted to see how easy it was to replace the faders and gave up when I realized the knobs were held on to the front panel with hex nuts. Actually, that's a very good ...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions

One more thing...it doesn't surprise me that there aren't enough controllers to go around. Traditionally, controllers don't sell in huge numbers and with the economy the way it is, few companies want to get stuck with stock sitting around in a warehouse gathering dust. From what I understand Akai ...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions

I sure hope this doesn't seem like spam, but I received an early APC40 and have written a review about it for the Harmony Central Confidential newsletter that will ship next week. It's a free newsletter; you can subscribe by going to http://www.harmony-central.com and clicking on "Newsletter" in the ...

If you're referring to the English soccer player Craig Anderton, no, I'm not him. I'm the guy who writes all those articles and stuff, and plays live with Live :)

I'm of the "old school" of mastering. I just got an award for the mastering job on a vocal quartet, so somebody must like what I do :)

To me, mastering is 90% equalization and 10% dynamics. I also do what I call "micro-mastering" - reducing the level of individual cycles of peaks in a digital audio ...

I've played with people who use Live basically as a signal processor. I'm not sure they even know about Arrangement view :)

I have no idea why Steinberg stopped pursuing the Quadrafuzz, although you CAN take the .dll from Cubase SX and use it with Cubase 4...not that anyone on this forum would care :)

Maybe we could get a group of people to demand that it return, or maybe Ableton could buy the code...yeah, that's the ...

FYI, as there seems to be interest in the guitar sound: That went directly into a Live channel. The effects I used were the Live compressor, the AudioDamage FuzzPlus 2 (a free download - check it out!) and the Live Ping-Pong Delay...that's all.

I was able to get latency low enough that the guitar ...

Actually PE is doing some very hip stuff these days. They've really embraced the digital revolution, and have some very interesting side ...

I just got turned on to this thread...cool, now I can add "controversial" to my resume!

Seriously, I've been playing music professionally for close to 50 years (which kinda makes me freak 8O just seeing that in print)...for my bio, check http://www.craiganderton.com . That's also where those with ...
