Re: Which option? Live 9 Standard+Komplete vs Live 9 Suite.

Out of the box Komplete content is better, also the 7synths included are quite good.

The problem is that it may overwhelm you, too much choice.

IMHO a smaller set up is also a good option, specially if you are starting.

So in your position I would get Standard plus a good third party synth: u-he ...

Re: Which option? Live 9 Standard+Komplete vs Live 9 Suite.

A cheap way to get Live is to buy a controller/audio interface that ships with Live Lite and then purchase upgrade to full. This only helps if you're shopping for a controller though.

I have Komplete 8 Ultimate & Live 9 Suite and would agree that if given the choice between Suite or Komplete I ...

Re: Which option? Live 9 Standard+Komplete vs Live 9 Suite.

I've used Ableton Live 9 Standard at my friends house numerous times and I've demoed other DAWS (except for logic). Decided Ableton is the one I like so I wanna get my own copy. I'm leaning towards Standard+Komplete right now, but don't know much about Suite and M4L.

Which option? Live 9 Standard+Komplete vs Live 9 Suite.

What are the pro's and con's of each option and do you have a suggestion?
I have used Operator a bit before and was somewhat lost.'

Thanks for any advice!

Need some pro's and con's of each! Komplete + ?

Logic Pro X + Komplete
Ableton Live Standard + Komplete
Ableton Suite

I've been using Ableton through umm...different means (broke college student). Finally saved enough money for this Christmas, I'm gonna take the dive and invest in a DAW/Synth. I'm a student so I get a discount on Ableton I ...

Making the switch.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience making a switch from playing instruments and being in bands to producing/dj'ing and working mainly with programs instead of live recordings. How long did it take for you to adjust?

I've been playing guitar and piano for many years and trying to make ...

Re: When you were starting out?

Yeah, I'm more use to a full 88 keys. But since this kind of music is a whole different kind of beast I'm not sure how many I should get. I am from California supporting USA for the Olympics! I've been looking through eBay and I saw a 25 key nocturn slightly used for 80 dollars. Contemplating ...

Re: When you were starting out?

I looked through your website and I'm definately gonna use it a lot once I get my stuff. It's looking a lot like I'm gonna get the nocturn. Will the 25 keys on the nocturn be enough too make let's say house music? Or producing hip hop music.

I am liking the nocturn+pad combo a lot after looking ...

Re: When you were starting out?

It's a digital grand piano, it has a lot of effects (although very dated) and is way too big to be convenient.

I've been looking at reviews for MIDI keyboards running around 400 dollars (mostly Axiom, Akai, and Novation) or so, but at that price range I'm hearing a lot of complaints about how they ...

When you were starting out?

Hey so I'm just starting out using Ableton and been using the built-in computer keyboard. Since I have been playing piano and guitar for about 8 years, this using my keypad feels a little odd for me. I'd like too buy a midi keyboard to get back into my "comfort zone" in a sense, but since I've only ...
