Re: how to route Maschine into Ableton
Thanks guys for your opinions and advice. Your right the MPC 5000 is 4 times the price of the Maschine. I find myself using the MPC more that is why I am considering selling my Maschine. That said, I may give it another go.

Re: how to route Maschine into Ableton
I see you guys like the Maschine. I purchased the Maschine as well but really can't figure out the advantage over my MPC5000. It has a lot of loops etc...but I am thinking of just selling mine. Can you tell me any advantages to make me change my mind?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Silly Question
Yes it does. I figured it out however. I was dragging the file out of ITunes onto the blank CD, instead of just burning from ITunes. When I did that the file plays fine in my CD player.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Silly Question
I have my track ready to export. I exported using the AIFF format at 16 bit and 44.1. I then dragged the file into Itunes. I then dragged it onto a CD to burn. I show it on my CD but it doesn't play. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I played it in I Tunes. In fact I am doing it now. Secondly I dragged it into Logic Pro 8 and played it as a single track. It plays fine. I must be doing something wrong that is so simple I am overlooking it. I am checking everything.
I will try again to burn a wav at 44.1 16 bit?

I must really out of whack. I setup the sequence using 16 bit wave and then went to I Tunes, put a disc in and dragged the song over to the blank disc. I then opened the disc and hit "burn CD". I made sure my I Tunes was set to burn a Audio CD.

I am just learning Ableton Live 7 and have a beginner's question. I need to know how to burn a song created in LIve to a disc that can be played on a CD player. I have read the manual about rendering and tried rendering in both WAV and AIFF. Is there something else I need to do after this to make it ...

Being New What Control Surface To Get
Ok being brand new to live and recording and being an old guy, what to buy next? What is recommended for a midi controller? I am also thinking of buying an MPC or the new Roland MV 8800 for generating beats and other sounds. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Wow, Thanks Everyone
This old guy appreciates all the comments. Thanks, I am thinking now to download the MacProVideo for Ableton 6. Sounds like the way to start. Also someone just contacted me and said they could do lessons on-line.

I appreciate the info. I will check out the book and dvd. By the way I notice in your header you are using Akai. I am debating the Akai 4000 or Roland MV 8800 for using with Ableton and Pro Tools. What do you think?

Brand New At Ableton
I am brand spanking new to Ableton and I am lost. I bought Live 6 with the instrument pack. I tried loading a clip or loop and it says I need Operator to use this function. I thought Live 6 came with hundreds of loops?
