Brand New At Ableton

Post by pjblues » Wed Apr 25, 2007 11:46 pm

I am brand spanking new to Ableton and I am lost. I bought Live 6 with the instrument pack. I tried loading a clip or loop and it says I need Operator to use this function. I thought Live 6 came with hundreds of loops?

Secondly, I am trying to configure Live audio and midi and again I am lost. I am using Pro Tools 7 LE surface controller and need to understand how to how my midi keyboard that is plugged into the surface controller trigger midi in Live.

Is there a DVD or Ableton For Dummies?

Thanks.

I appreciate the info. I will check out the book and dvd. By the way I notice in your header you are using Akai. I am debating the Akai 4000 or Roland MV 8800 for using with Ableton and Pro Tools. What do you think?

man thas a tough one, if youll be applying FX on your comp and doing alot of the post-production on your comp, then id go for the 4000. but if you wanna "master" and do FX on your mv 8800 then id go with that, also one of the roland products, dont know if its the VS series or the 8800 but they have an LA2A plugin for it and some other UAD stuff.
crazy.
