I would never purchase a hardware version of this program, because it would not be easily upgradeable. the software allows for an infinite number of configurations. controllers are the best way to go. Learning max/msp has been something that has drastically changed how I hear electronic music.

I am hoping that the max/msp patches I have built I can plug them in and use them and add effects to the max instruments I use. I also Hope that I can use my jitter patches so that i can really use the Live 6.0 video, it would be nice to be able to edit and sample video on the fly like I do with ...

I think it is a good tool to rewire as well. Its GUI are clumsy and take up too much processor speed.. but

ableton and max/msp can solve all of your rendering issues

is the programming langauge, i want to master..

I wouldn't go with the pro. the average life span of a lap top is 4 years. The cost of the mac book pro does not warrant the expenditure. I would suggest the Macbook, use the hell out of the machine, load it with RAM, and use it as an instrument you know you will need to upgrade at some point down ...

I would like to be able to change time, i often do in my composition. It limits this program to certain genres of music.
