trouble mapping APC 40 to certain plug-ins

I'm attempting to map 2 MIDI controls on the Izotope StutterEdit plugin to an APC-40, and no matter how I approach it - through the "learn" function in StutterEdit or through the "configure" function in Ableton, I can't seem to make it happen. If I use my O2 keyboard, the "learn" function in Stutter...

Re-assigning faders on the APC 40

I'm trying to re-assign the faders on the APC40 so that fader #2 controls track 1, fader 4 controls track 2, fader 6 controls track 3, and fader 4 controls track 8. I can easily reassiign faders 2, 3, and 4. I'm having a problem with the faders on track 1; no matter what I do in terms of assigning f...

Re: Make APC automatically jump to current scene?

True, and it's a useful feature as it goes; but my sets routinely have quite a few clips and scenes - the set I'm working on now will likely end up with 200 - 300 scenes - and holding down "shift" while repeatedly pressing a button to get to the next scene I want to trigger is somewhat of a hassle. ...

Re: Make APC automatically jump to current scene?

I'm curious about the same thing. The footpedal option would be a lot more useful if you didn't have to row the APC 40 via the shift and scene buttons to move over 50 or 100 scenes to catch up with what the footpedal triggered.

Re: Akai APC 40 - anyone ever remove the side pieces?

Akai APC 40 - anyone ever remove the side pieces?

I'm planning on toting this thing in planes inside a rigid case, and if I can save a few inches on the size of the device it would come in mighty handy. Anyone ever unscrew the side pieces? Are there any electronics sticking out if you do this? Perhaps someone knows of an exploded drawing or diagram...

Live crashes when rendering

Hi - I'm running Live 8.0.3 on a Macbook Pro w/OS 10.4.11, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 gig of RAM. I often render many edited files, one at a time, each usually 2 - 5 minutes in length. I find that since I've been using Live 8, the application freezes (I get the pinwheel running forever) after the 3...

Dragging a clip to the browser?

Hi. I seem to recall that in previous versions of Live (pre 6), if you dragged a clip into a different folder in the browser in session view, it showed up on one single browser line marked with the icon of a Live Clip, as opposed to the actual sample. I find that in Live 6, if I do this I wind up wi...

6.0.3 time-related weirdness

I just upgraded to 6.0.3 (PC) about 2 days ago, and I've noticed some interesting problems that have made me switch back to 6.0.1 until the next version is up. 1) I'm working on a long project (60 minutes) in arrangement view; there is automation present on the master track's tempo line; occasionall...

Syncing Live 6 to Serato

Has anyone managed to do this? I have a tour coming up in March with a crew that uses Mac laptops running Serato. I'd like to be able to sync my Live 6 (PC) to their setup, but I don't know very much about Serato, and they know nothing about Midi or sync in general. Any help - even if it's a definit...

How many controllers possible in Live 6?

Hi. I'm a somewhat MIDI-challenged Live user (5.2 at the moment) and I use 3 USB controllers on stage. Three appears to be Live 5.2's limit of USB controllers, unless I want to get involved with MIDI routing software, which I don't if I can avoid it. I was wondering if anyone who's using 6 can tell ...

MIDI for Dummies?

And I do mean dummies (speaking strictly of myself). Is there such a book? Perhaps the title's different? Is there a website with a really simple , slow , step-by-step explanation? Is there any help at all anywhere along these lines? I've gotten to the point in performing where I'm sorely vexed by m...
