Err, you can't get a pair of any dynaudio or krk vxt8 for 550€ - did you realize that these are sold
one at a time? For example, Thomann price for Dynaudio DBM50 is 495€, so thats 990€ for a pair.
550€ doesn't seem to be enough even for a pair of VXT4.

Re: Opinions on playing guitar live through Ableton...latency?
Just got my RME Babyface in the mail today, and it's stable (full cpu load) at 32 byte buffer with a latency of 4.6ms.
So if you want low latency that works even with high load RME seems to be the answer.
Pretty incredible performance, I had an Apogee Duet before and it was clicking at heavy loads ...

Anyone with Mackie Onyx 820i with OSX?
Howdy,
does anyone have experience using Mackie's Onyx 820i FW mixer with Live on OSX?
It would fill my need of getting a mixer plus being an audio interface, but I wonder
what kind of latency you get from it when using VI plugins or amp sims. What does Live
say about overall latency, and does it ...

Oh and to switch the sample you see in the edit tab, just select the sample you want in the Map tab.

Re: Layering in Maschine
You can add new samples in the "Map" tab of the Sampler tab. You have to shrink the existing samples mapping areas, so you can drag
the new sample to an empty (non-mapped) area of the mapping editor. Otherwise it'll replace a sample if you drop over an existing sample/mapping.
Then if you make the ...

Re: Monitor positioning advice?
Hmm, I don't think isolation pads would do any good. Genelecs already have isopods which do the same exact thing.
If I remember correctly, 8020's have screw holes on the bottom that fit mic stands. That could be one option.
I actually had a same kind of situation with 8020's and I made them tiny ...

Re: Suggest some monitors for around $1,000 usd
I've used 8020's, different KRK's (Rokit G2 has wonderful performance for the price) and I've now settled for Adam A7X.
These things are great, and I love having the speakers go down to 40hz without a separate sub. My opinion is that
genelec's are too expensive for what they are, but you know what ...

8.2 generating event log files by default (events.txt)
Howdy,
I wonder if somebody forgot to turn off event logging for 8.2? This on a mac, under
~/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live Reports/Temp. Is this intentional or was this
as mistake? I'd rather not have every mouse move generate several lines of log file by default.

Yeah, repair permissions or try shaking a rubber chicken on top the machine - it'll help about as much
If you're getting permission related error messages on your operating system files it might help, otherwise it's
a waste of time.
Repairing permissions is a legacy from the time people ran ...

Re: Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 or......?
Oh and you might want to avoid M-Audio profire interfaces, they have RANDOM latency. It's a bug
in their driver code, and there's no word of updated drivers. Except they keep promising to update
the drivers as they have for over half a year.

Re: Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 or......?
And a hint about asio4all: it's not giving anybody a lower latency, it does not count any of the native drivers buffers. Asio4all just adds a asio layer to the native sound driver, and as such has no information of the latency the real sound card drivers add. You can do a loop-back test to verify ...

Re: I need some speakers
We use two cheap active speakers (PA, not studio monitors) with my friends, and they
work with one or two guitars and a loud drummer. I would not even try to use studio
monitors, they might sound loud at home but when you crank them up to band levels they
WILL blow their woofers sooner than later ...

Re: Apogee One Feedback Anyone ?!
I've used one for a few months and I have been pretty happy. Sound quality is great as far as I can hear,
I did not notice any difference to duet which I had before. The internal mic is fun and produces
good recordings. It's not directional so you'll be getting any and all background noise in the ...

Re: Confused about latency and drivers
It might be because asio4all is not showing you the real latency. It's giving you it's best guess, and there
might be any amount of extra latency added on top of that by your sound card drivers. I would suggest
doing the latency compensation test that you can find from live's help. That will show ...
