Live 9 Drum Rack / Slice to MIDI Macro workflow
Preface: By default in live 9, kit-808 loads up with each sample on an instrument rack w/ independent macros, and autoselect allows bluehand macros to control only the last triggered pad. Awesome!
Iv created a custom preset under "Dropping Samples/On Drum rack".

Re: Midi Map Blue hand control to playable midi note

Iv also noticed that if you hit pad 1, then click its rack title bar, then repeat for pads 2-8,
the blue hand WILL autoselect to the pads when played. BUT as soon as you do this for more than pads, or click focus to a different rack or device, it doesn't work anymore.
So here's what iv ...

Midi Map Blue hand control to playable midi note

Re: Custom controller mappings
Does anyone have experience of writing scripts for external gear? Do I need to create a custom python script for the unit or should it work with the text file approach?
The text file approach should work. Did you edit the file to reflect your controller?

Re: info please: drum rack macros to control selected pad only?
This is quite easy to do with live 8.
Put an instrument rack between the drum rack and the simpler. Set up your macros on this new rack. In live 8 you can assign which track is instant mapped (and you wil see the little Blue Hand) to midi by going into midi map mode and clicking on the rick title ...

Re: Are context dependent midi mapping possible?
This has really got me stuck as well. Im using an MPD32.
I would like use the 8 knobs to on the MPD to adjust 8 parameters (eg. start, end, pitch, vol, attack, ect.) of my drum samples w/o the mouse, only using the controller.
I have a drumrack with a simpler grouped to instrument rack on each pad.
