Live 9 Drum Rack / Slice to MIDI Macro workflow

Post by OnlyDanks » Thu Mar 14, 2013 10:09 pm

Preface: By default in live 9, kit-808 loads up with each sample on an instrument rack w/ independent macros, and autoselect allows bluehand macros to control only the last triggered pad. Awesome!

Iv created a custom preset under "Dropping Samples/On Drum rack".
It solves the problem of having to drop the new sample into the simpler.
Now replacing multiple sounds or creating custom kits it MUCH easier by dropping new samples straight to the pads, and keeps independent macros.

My question....why doesn't "slice to midi" work the same way? When you slice to midi, its drops the samples right on the pad, without the in-between rack.
The macros control all samples together equally, rather than individually.
Iv tried different ways to create a slicing preset
Iv tried changing the default presets for instrument rack and drum rack and midi track.

Any suggestions or comments?
Thanks in advance

I, too, would love to know if there was a way to make this work.

I am wondering if this isn't one of the long time feature requests.

Slice to midi loads up each pad as a sampler, not a simpler. A simpler is used as the default drum rack pad.
