Re: How to automatically select an Instrument Rack inside a chain?
I don´t have Push, so just a guess: There is an arrow above the chains. If active, the controls change with selecting the chain. You don´t need to manually select the chain. See chapter 20.4.1 Auto Select:

Re: How to automatically select an Instrument Rack inside a chain?
Thanks for chiming in. I did try the auto-select button (not available specifically on the Push, but I made sure the session had this enabled before transferring to the Push). Unfortunately, it works on the laptop but not on the Push.

How to automatically select an Instrument Rack inside a chain?
Apologies if this has been asked, I searched quite a bit and could not find what I'm trying to accomplish.
I have a P3S, and on it is a track set up to trigger and play different keyboard sounds for each song in a set. The track has a "song select" Instrument Rack whose chains are loaded up with ...

"relative" tap tempo
Some time ago I used a great plug-in, Relative Tap Tempo , to help solve the issue of the downbeat resetting when tapping out a changing tempo during a set. This plugin isn't available any longer, and I can't find an alternative online.
Does anyone know of an alternative solution?
Essentially, if ...

Push *3* pedal remap?
I'm using a Push 3 in standalone mode and it drives me crazy the footswitches are hard-wired to sustain and record, unless in User Mode. Previously I used MidiPipe on my laptop to intercept the sustain message and replace it with a mappable MIDI CC. In standalone mode I don't have this option.
I ...

Re: Using Push to change patches/presets
- Each cell of the drum rack is set to play the same MIDI note it receives
- Each cell of the drum rack has an external instrument loaded which sends MIDI to the IAC bus

Re: Using Push to change patches/presets
Thanks, I had taken a look at P2D, and although it looks amazing it's a little overkill for my needs. For those doing more in session view it's probably a game-changer.
For anyone interested, I do have a technique that's working pretty well for now:
- MIDI track titled "Song Select" loaded with a ...

Re: Using Push to change patches/presets
Sorry, I'm doing a bad job of explaining. Currently, I use clips to select a scene, set up patch changes, etc. I could do it with ClyphX or something but I roll my own using MIDI and clip envelopes. I fire off those specific clips using my controller's presets. So my "Song One" preset is set up to ...

Re: Using Push to change patches/presets
I get ClyphX, but how do you know what clip/song is what by looking at the Push?

Re: Using Push to change patches/presets
Just a bump in case any Push users have tips or advice on how they navigate presets. So far my only solution is to use another controller which has presets built-in, or a lot of glancing between laptop and the Push's session view.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Using Push to change patches/presets
Why don't you think you can switch scenes?
I didn't say Push couldn't switch scenes. I did say that—as far as I know—there's no way for Push to fit with my workflow or elegantly switch to specific scenes.
For example, let's say the laptop is far away and I need to switch to the song "Burger Buns ...

Using Push to change patches/presets
Hello,
My Live sets are usually set up to work like so: a keyboard track loaded with an instrument rack to play sounds; additional tracks with loops that play in sequence via scenes and IAC; and a track with clips that control the patch changes. A button on the controller "initiates" a song, and ...
