I own the axiom 25 and i would recommend picking up the novation on the basis that the engima software that comes witht he axiom is a pure pain!

One thing that bothers me about the GUI's of softsynths, is that has so much potential to be something more than the hardware counterparts that they try to emulate.

Yeah, my main synth(moog opus 3) doesnt have presets so it ultimately works out as advantage, as it makes you learn the synth...

Although, I gotta admit that since i downloaded this demo when it was released, i do have the urge to buy it.... dunno, cant really explain. maybe for peace of mind....

I owned an sp-12 turbo for awhile. Incredible machine. Just really simple and inspiring. and i loved how it just "legitimized" every sound put in it.

But to work with 5 seconds of sample time in this day and age is abit ridiculous. And i didnt want to keep worrying about such a pricey product ...

DP5 has been my main DAW for awhile now. Its a no frills software with no limitations whatsoever and can do anything you want it to do due to its flexible customization. You can even turn the GUI into a pro tools clone if you want to...

But the main reason i stick with DP, is because of the Polar ...

I havent tried the padkontrol, but i own an mpd24 and guru and its like they were made to go together. Just flick over to the preset and there you go. In addition, When i use Guru within a daw, i set it to midi channel 11 and it controls whatever engines in view.

The only thing that an MPC is beneficial for these days is the workflow.
I bought Guru, Live 6 and an MPD24 and now i have an MPC workstation on steroids(and much mroe ofcourse). and this is for less than an MPC1000, which has terrible pads(apparently)
