Hey you people that don't have time to listen to music, how about listening in your car or with a cd player or ipod or whatever portable music device you have on the way to and from work/school!

Oh, yeah, Mr. Yellow, I'd forgotten about Mr. Bungle and all their related bands. I've been wanting to check out the new CD from Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant.

Of course, mentioning Bungle ties into METAL!!!! Slayer, anyone?

Busy work and family life doesn't allow much time to just sit and listen to music like I used to, but here are some things that I've wanted to listen to, in no particular order.

1. DJ Shadow, Massive Attack, etc.
2. Graham Central Station, Funkadelic, etc.
3. Pixies, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, etc ...

I'm interested, and I (or Tommy Genes' alter ego) can offer:

1. Electric bass (22 years playing/recording)
2. A little electric guitar
3. Subtle to freaky effects on 1 and 2
4. Other laptop shenanigans...

I agree with sweetjesus that we need some way to actually form the teams. I've seen other ...

There is a now-free GenieSys DX plugin called Declipper that might help. I haven't tried it myself, although I expect it's not perfect because of what people have said above. Still, it might offer some improvement.

I'd like to start off by asking for 2 people to alpha test this for me in the coming days. Please volunteer if you are someone who is relatively tech savvy (coding proficient or a systems administrator).

If enough of you say that you would like this, I could write a little program that does this and provide you with a config menu so you can choose the path for your Live software since it changes every version.

Yeah, I was hoping to avoid the work of setting up a dual-boot (I was running ME and 98Lite on two partitions before XP Pro, so I know...)

Still, gpedit.msc is just a tool for editing registry entries, so I would expect that commands ...

Though I'd resurect this thread since I've just loaded Windows XP Pro on my Live laptop.

Is there a way to set this up as a menu to chose immediately after booting?

For example:
Press 1 for full Windows XP load
Press 2 for Ableton Live as custom shell

That would make it a little easer than having ...

Unfortunately, no. I'm asking if anybody else knows of one. A relatively brief Google search didn't really turn anything up for me.

And the utility has to be free, too. Otherwise these free loops are no longer free ...

How about a PC utility that can open a *.dmg file?

BTW, *.dmg is an OS X drive image.
