I will want to decide between 3 solutions:

1) In Live, use a MIDI device chain: Expression Control followed by CC Control (seems to work, though cumbersome)
2) Thoroughly cleanse the MIDI keyboard
3) Purchase a new keyboard (as the Axiom is 14 years old anyway, some sliders and encoders act up, too ...

My old M-Audio Axiom Advanced MIDI keyboard controller has an impaired ModWheel that sends erratic, jittery output on its own, generating unexpected values in CC 1, usually between ca. 1 and 7. So, not very high numbers, but it disrupts the flow (e.g. with Kontakt libraries).

Sometimes it becomes evident when I hover the mouse over a MIDI clip and look at the status bar at the bottom of the screen. It would display an odd value clip length there which doesn't correspond to the pertinent MIDI clip even ...

On Intel Mac, I controlled my hardware synthesizer Sequential Prophet-600 by means of a self-created Reaktor 6 editor/manager via MIDI CC.
In Ableton Live 10.1.43 using Reaktor 5, I was able to forward synth parameter settings to the hardware device just fine.

However, on a Silicon Mac in Ableton ...

Same Synth1 white interface behavior here (VSTi and AUi) on Mojave since updating Live 10 to 10.1.35 from 10.1.30.
They clearly broke something while making Live 10 Big Sur compatible.

Long standing unexpected behavior (since at least Live 9) still present in Live 10.1 (Standard), likely also in Live 10.1.2b5:
If you change a parameter on a third-party VST GUI panel, the corresponding enclosing Ableton group device macro won't be updated.

I didn't have the H and W key status in mind. That's not what I meant.
I mean the element ABOVE the arrangement that consists of one thin line for each respective track. The height of this element is not resized with the H key, but dynamically with the mouse.
