Hardstyle Sound Design

Before I scare you away with the title of this post, let me clarify: Since the beginning of my journey into sound design, I've always wanted to learn how to design hardstyle kicks. Along that journey, I learned that most hardstyle artists tend to use Logic instead of Ableton, specifically for a few ...

Re: Logic's Clip Distortion in Ableton

I guess it should be noted that the serial manner in which signal flow is dictated within Logic's Clip Distortion might not be quite identical to the way an input signal is channeled through Saturator. Hence the need for a rack setup. My thinking is to use EQ8 for the filters and Saturator for the i...

Logic's Clip Distortion in Ableton

So, in my journey through sound design, I came across a audio effect device called Clip Distortion that is native to Logic Pro. I wondered what made it unique and if that particular device could be re-imagined in Ableton, either as a rack or M4L device. Context: I'm looking to do some sound design i...

Session view auto scrolls when adding audio effects

Has anyone else seen this happen? I'll be in session view working on a sound and adding effects as I go. Sometimes when I do, the session view will start auto scrolling to the left. I'll be like wtf and try to scroll back, but it's like it's locked to auto scroll. If I save my session and reopen it,...

Kick Drum tuning

I wanted to ask something specific about kick drum tuning that didn't come up in my initial search. The style of kick that I want to work with is massively heavy in the distortion department, or something akin to hardstyle. I've noticed that in a variety of tunes in that genre, the kick is tuned bas...

Re: Midi mode setup for a CDJ

More idea implementation: I have a series of bus tracks to house incoming audio/midi and a custom FX rack for each bus tailored to suit the needs of the sound modulation I'm trying to emulate. All the key parameters are mapped to the frontside macro pannel, which are mapped to the various buttons, k...

Midi mode setup for a CDJ

So I have this idea about controlling sound in live performance. What I want to do is have a set of send tracks to control macros in different tracks. Is it possible to map sends to control macros? Or would it be easier to set up a send chain within the track I want to manipulate via sampler or some...

Multiple instances of razor crashes

So every time I try to open more than two instances of razor with the reaktor player, I get a crash. I'm running 32bit everything, and can't seem to find a work around. Anyone else experiencing this? I did a quick scan on the NI forums and apparently it's even a problem in cubase, but no one has a s...

Problem with razor patches not saving in a live set

Hey all! So I bought Native Instrument's Razor and have been doing some sound design exploration. I can save patches and load them just fine, but my question is has anyone experienced these types of patches not being saved when saving your live set? Whenever I go to load my set, all the tracks that ...

Re: Problem opening Razor

No worries. I think it was some sort of out of memory problem with the live set in question. It crashes every time I try to load that particular set. So I just decided to start over. It sucks to lose a couple weeks of hard work on a tune that you get really attached to, but c'est la vie I guess :(

Problem opening Razor

Alright, so I just bought Native Instruments Razor and I can open it just fine in an empty live set. But when I load my live set that I've already done extensive work on, I am unable to Open the reaktor player. Double clicking on it does nothing and when I manually drag the vst onto a blank midi tra...

Actually, now that I think about it, this does allow for some interesting processing options for each individual sample layer
