[tip] Controlling Live with mouse gestures

A friendly hello to everyone,

here`s a way to control certain (key-) commands in Live via mouse gestures.
There`s a small little utility called "StrokeIt", take a look here:

http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/

With this program you can define mouse gestures (e.g. click and move the mouse to the right ...

[tip] Multiple outputs for midi clock sync

A friendly hello to everyone,

hoping that this tip has not been covered in another thread, here`s a simple way to send Live`s midi clock to more than one slaved device. In my case I use Live as clock master to sync/control two drummachines (Korg Electribe ES-1mkII and ER-1mkII) and a synth ...

Live3 user: Why didn`t you upgrade yet?

A friendly hello to everyone,

as you can seefrom my signature I still work with Live3. There are a few reasons for me why I didn`t upgrade to Live4 yet:

1. Recording in repeat-mode. This one has been discussed here:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11282

Or better: Recording into ...

A friendly hello to everyone,

this is one the reasons why I didn`t upgrade to Live 4 yet.
Recording in repeat-mode (recording stops on its own after 4 bars, which is my global quantisation, and the new recorded clips start to play immidiately without pressing any button or key) is a very very ...

[tip] BCR2000 and Scuzzphut lite 6.5 VST

A friendly hello to everyone,

this here is my first attempt in sharing a tip. I hope you dont`t sit in front of your screen laughing... ;-)

The BCR2000 unit has 16 (!) buttons, arranged in two rows. These buttons can be programmed in a "toggle" modus, i.e. pressing a button (red light on) = note ...

...
i've installed it, it's working fine, but i couldn't use it with the same shorcuts as Live: if the clock app is open, it won't transmit the keys i type to Live. there's no 'key through' (as in 'midi through').

did you find a workaround.
otherwise yeah, pretty cool app.

Hi peeddrroo,

you`re ...

A friendly hello to everyone,

as a kind of "workaround" you could use a small utility called XNote Stopwatch.

http://www.XNoteStopwatch.com

Try setting the same keycommand for starting the watch AND starting Live (yes, it`s possible).

A friendly hello to everyone,

in Live 3 when you pressed the record button of a clip set to "repeat mode", it recorded in the lenght of the given quantisation, then stopped and immidiately played it - just like forge said.
BUT: this only works for me (still on Live 3.0.4) when I press the record ...

Why still so many feature requests?

A friendly hello to everyone,

while reading thru the posts in the diffenrent sections of this forum I stumbled over the following thought: Live 4 isn´t yet available but people keep / start asking for new features. I would have thought that now, where Live has implemented the most wanted featute ...
