Have you tried using [live.thisdevice] instead of [loadbang]?(could be not initializing due to load bangs issues)

Re: Sampling Techniques - A Venus Hum Video Revisited
I remember this video, and wanted to reference it in conversation just now. Sadly, it’s listed as private now.
I’m not sure why that surprises me; the other links in this thread are to MySpace.
Anyway, it was a great video, and I’m gonna go listen to my Venus Hum CDs now.

Re: Tip: Excellent stand for Push
I ordered mine from Best Buy. Was cheaper than Amazon. Assembly sucked, but shouldn't need to happen a second time.
It's nearly perfect; the edges aren't high enough to block any of the cables, and that's important if you're angling the stand away from yourself for the benefit of an audience ...

Re: Track still recording aftertouch with M4L filtering it out
I'm not at my Live computer, but here's a simple test:
Create a track. Place an arpeggiator on it. Arm the track. Record something. Examine the clip data.
As a visualization exercise... MIDI flows in sort of an "L" shape, from clips down to clips, and across effects to an instrument. I believe ...

Re: Using the Push sequencer in time signatures other than 4/4
That's somewhat unsolveable with the current hardware.
I mean, 5/4 and 7/8 would work, but what if you need 11 or 13 beats to a measure? There's only 8 columns...

Re: Virtual MIDI Keyboard in Live with Push
If you've got max for live, it's pretty easy to build as well.

Re: 64th note repeat?
Try an arpeggiator MIDI device. Set its pattern to "chords", and it's rate to 64th notes.
If you use 32nd note repeat on Push, that'll be be close. The only thing being, each duple will have the same velocity on both notes. And Push's "swing" control won't do anything useful.

Re: Need some help to create simple max midi fx
Sharing data between max for live devices introduces a significant but unpredictable amount of latency (meaning, it's not something you can buffer against). Depending on your needs, it might still be acceptable. I got away with it here:

Re: function of bundled lfo midi vs lfo device?
Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm largely making it up, but...
MIDI version has additional controls in a foldaway panel, allowing for incoming MIDI signals to affect parameters. (this is different from mapping the knobs, and presumably better somehow) Audio version won't have those, and is ...

I'm not sure what exactly you are referring to, we went a bit off topic with the last posts. Or are you talking about the method for User button changes detection I posted earlier (https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=1533959#p1533959)?

Oh. Hey . Max runtime example.
http://sadfactory.com/inventions/988
(scroll down past the max for live thing)
I still have to write up a proper explanation of what the app does, and probably make a demo video. But you can at least poke around in the source code, if you're into such things.

Re: Push developer kit: M4L devices for Push!
That's the wrong solution. Though I don't know offhand if max for live will allow the right one.
In the max runtime, we can detect when user mode is switched to, and redraw all of our LEDs at that moment. This is the right solution because it allows our apps to keep updating the potential LED state ...

Re: Any way to make a custom push scale
What do the numbers in brackets mean in this exemple : MUSICAL_MODES = ['Major', [0,2,4,5,7,9,11] ?
Let's say you're in C major. C is your root. That's step 0.
Count 2 half steps up. There's D.
Continue up to 4 half steps from the root. Surprise! It's E.
Where might F be? One half-step higher ...

Re: How long til we can use 64 pads with drum rack
Alternately, you can set up an empty MIDI track, open the i/o panel, and set it to send incoming notes into the track with your drum rack on it. While you're on that track, you've got your 64 pad mode just like the grouped version. But you also have the option of switching over to the original drum ...

Re: The easiest scale
You're actually not talking about scales, you're talking about layout. Specifically, you're talking about eliminating row offset.
You can get close to that without any custom scripting; press SCALE, then hold SHIFT, and you should see a few offset options. It defaults to 4ths^. I'm guessing Sequent ...
