Greetings! I made this device in Max (Windows), it doesn't require a max license to run, just the runtime enviroment for Max 7 and virtual midi ports. The goal was to create the equivalent of the software that usually comes with midi controls for deeper midi customization.

Very Welcome!
It's also totaly useless (sorry)
There are two ways to make Pushs User mode, well usefull.
1: The simple (and only really practical) one: buy a third party script or use a M4L device someone made.

Re: Does Push make Live run slower?
I have not noticed any difference in ableton performce in my year or so of use.
Only time I see a performance difference in is when using laptop on battery and push powered via usb. This situation doesn't have to do with push as much as the way my laptop manages resources.

Re: mapping push pad to a specific value of a parameter
You could have a horizontal row mapped to a parameter quite easily. This would only give control & not visual feedback though. Plus its a different orientation.
However, to do this:
Enter user mode on push
Enter midi map mode in ableton
select parameter
Hit the lowest and highest pads in the range ...

Re: Non-drummer using ableton: Drums never sound human enough!
Using midi effects can help a bit, without having to do as much editing per note. For instance, the velocity effect can randomly add in subtle (or extreme if you set it) velocity differences; giving a bit more organic feel.
Tasteful amounts of audio effects can add worlds of organic feel. Try ...

Re: How do I use two drum racks for more sample space!?!? PLEASE
A few ways to achieve this if I understand your need right. I will describe one.
You could go about it by using an instrument rack and the instrument racks chain selector. Load multiple drum racks into an instrument rack, adjust the chain selector to scroll through the racks, then set one of the ...

Absolutely miniscule quibble: I would love this to be able to easily hold a sustained note/chord and not cut it off abruptly when turning the instrument off.

Re: Novation Launch Control - Midi Remote Script For Live 8
Just got a message back from support. As of right now, there is only a script for live 9 out. Live 8 will be updated in the unknown future.
