is anyone using a Cakewalk VS-100 together with live ? For 299€ the vs-100 looks like a good all in one solution but I've some questions.

Can the Mackie Control Emulation access all parameters of a rack or just the first 4 ?
Is it possible to switch scenes with a button or a know ? a simple ...

Ok, I should have read the posts more carefully, since it´s already been said that the faders are 40mm ones.
I still wonder if 40mm are very useful.

Can anyone of the remote sl owners tell me how long the faders are ? They don´t look like 60mm ones.
Can you really use them to mix trax ?
What about the Pads ? I´m used to the pads on the roland fantom-s and sadly those pads are nearly unusable.

Finally Live is a full grown DAW
and
Live 5 looks even more intuive than before.

Special thanks for implementing those housekeeping stuff like the new loop format . Perfect for lazy and chaotic persons like me.

As far as I remember you can remove the stand, because it is possible to use a VESA compliant wall hook.

btw. I´m thinking of selling my pc and buying a mac mini or an imac even though my pc is even faster than a 2GHz IMac.

In generall the rotarys are fine, but the quality seems to be a problem sometimes.
I´ve severall wiered acting rotarys and a nearly broken shift button on my Q. Luckily I´ve found an echange how-to on the net.

I´ve a blue Q Keyboard (1st series with wooden ends) and I love this machine.
It´s more than a regular VA, because you have FM and Wavetables.
The sound very powerfull and flexible, but with a special character which can sometimes be annoying.

The presets are very brave. My advice is to map controllers to TIME & TONE.

I second the jump to scene wish.
it would be great for a break scene, so that you can automatically advance to the next scene.

scripting may be cool, but I think scripting is against the intuitive aproach that makes live so special

I would like to send midi clock to all my synths, so that i can use onboard arpeggiators and step sequencers. I don´t think it is possible with V4.04 because you can only select on interface at a time.

the best way for me to start is without a computer 8O

i like improvising on my fantom-s workstation, or create a new sound on a hardware synth. the most important thing is: NO COMPUTER at the beginning. a computer is distracting and most of the times full of problems.
