I'm trying to get a swung-eighths groove on Ableton. By swung eighths, I mean, SWUNG EIGHTHS: for non-theory people out there, that entails subdividing each beat into EXACTLY THREE eighths. Kinda-swung grooves are awesome in the right setting, but I need precision right now.
So I type up "swing" in ...

Re: MIDI File is Twice As Fast As I Want It to Be
Wow; answered my own question—and the feature was staring me right in the face!
Import the MIDI file, open its Clip View, and go to Notes. There are half-tempo and double-tempo buttons right near the top! (they are labeled :2 and *2)

MIDI File is Twice As Fast As I Want It to Be
I exported some midi notes from Sibelius into a .mid file; but, in the file's destined Ableton set (in which I'm already balls deep), I'd made the project's tempo number twice as great as it "should" be because I wanted to hear further subdivided metronome clicks. (i.e. The actual piece is Q=85, but ...

Re: Media files are missing. FUCK YOOUUUUU
i mean something is def weird with it anyway: no, it doesn't automatically make a project folder when i do "save" or "save as"; it just saves it as a single .als file in my Ableton folder.
This is my folders/whatever setup, btw. (it's a mac)

Re: Media files are missing. FUCK YOOUUUUU
it's true; i did select "Save Live Set" and not "Save Live Set As..."; but it's a new set, so those two options bring up the same dialogue. i thought it therefore wouldn't make a difference that i chose one or the other...no?

Media files are missing. FUCK YOOUUUUU
 This has been fucking with me for quite some time, but today was the straw that broke me.

"Delete temporary files?" "Yes" ....There goes *EVERY CLIP*
I just saved my project, which is all audio recordings, and the popup appeared asking me to delete temporary files; I click Yes like i always do. & I look back at the project and see that EVERY SINGLE F*CKING FILE IS GONE, and now i'm manually finding all of them bcos for some reason Ableton won't ...

Why do the volume peaks change when you drop in an EQ?
When playing an untouched track from itunes on ableton, the peak is nice and tidy at 0.0 dB. But then I drop an EQ Three effect onto the audio track, and suddenly the peaks are much higher, easily going into the red zone.
Why??? Am i doing something wrong??

Re: How to find the average peak of your track?
this doesn't solve my problem. can someone clarify, IS there a way to QUICKLY find the peak? i don't want to play through a 2 hr mix just to find it. is there an info panel somewhere, or maybe it's a function on Audacity or another program like that?
