Re: Best seasonal deals 2014 edition.

I think I'm gonna pick up some VSTs from Native Instruments - http://www.NativeInstruments.com - they have a bunch of stuff for Kontakt that are 50% off

Have also been thinking about picking up a bundle from Waves - http://www.Waves.com - Their Gold Package has a ton of stuff and is only $200 ...

Re: Update LIVE 9 for RETINA !!!

Didn't see a fix in any of this... just explanations of why it's not working. Hopefully the next release will have support. Any word on when this might be coming out... Ableton Staff?

You didn't read the discussion to the end? You can get the 9.1.6beta2 now if you sign up at centercode.

Re: 2.8 GHz Quad Core i7 vs. 2.4 GHz dual core i5?

Sorry forgot to check back in on this thread. Yes the difference is amazing! A lot of my projects would be glitching as soon as I hit play but now it barely hits the CPU meter. Have been on 64bit for a while now, definitely worth it.

Awesome, I went ahead and bought the new comp. Thanks for your ...

Re: 2.8 GHz Quad Core i7 vs. 2.4 GHz dual core i5?

Bought the 2.8GHz Quad Core i7 with the 1TB hard drive, picking it up in a few days. Should be a decent improvement from my mid 2011 dual core macbook pro.

Hey Cluster,

Just wanted to touch base. Are you noticing a big difference? I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Also, did u jump up to the 64 ...

2.8 GHz Quad Core i7 vs. 2.4 GHz dual core i5?

So I'm thinking about getting a new MBP w/ all the bells and whistles. I'm just wondering... If I'm about to drop $2.7k, if I'm going to see that much of an increase in performance?

Current machine:
2.4GHz MBP w/ Intel Core i5
8 GB DDR3 Ram

The MacBook Pro I'm eyeing:
2.8GHz i7 Quad Core
16GB Ram ...

Re: How good is an Apollo for Effects/Plugins?

for live tracking of raw vocals/guitar with sub 2ms (essentially zero) latency, the uad apollo works great. I use mine for that purpose. but as another poster said you are basically tracking through apollo software, not ableton. this allows you to track and apply uad plugin effects 'live' with no ...

Re: How good is an Apollo for Effects/Plugins?

I have an Apollo Twin Duo and have mixed feelings. The preamps are very good, and live zero latency recording is nice. But i absolutely despise UAD plugins. Each UAD plugin you add as an insert to your session adds ~3-4ms of input delay (perhaps more if it is a processor intensive plugin). That ...

How good is an Apollo for Effects/Plugins?

Hi There,

Have a Scarlett 212 interface right now, and am thinking about getting an Apollo. I hear the effects/plugins are pretty top notch. Just curious if any of you have any experience w/ one or the like, and if it's worth the purchase? Also, how much better is an apollo over using aftermarket ...

Drum Rack / Instrument Rack Sharing Place?

So I'm sitting here chopping up all these drum breaks into their own drum racks on a master track that I can just grab from and go whenever I want... And I'm thinking to myself... there has to be someplace where people share this stuff already. Anyone know of a good source / community where there ...

Okay, I'm a dummy (and you might be too)

So I was just playing w/ the Push, and decided to wrap it up to keep it away from the kiddies while I go for a jog...

So I unplug it from the wall... And realize... IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE PLUGGED IN! Doh! smh. I just assumed that because it came with the adapter, that I needed to plug it in.

Didn't ...
