yes, you need something that will intercept the midi message of the APC40 (Bomes, midi pipe, control aid) and turn it into a keystroke or listen to the control surface (Max4Live) and do a similar job...

I've installed MIDI pipe. Any chance of a talkthrough how to map the delete key ...

Simple question about velocity/entering midi notes
How to do you change the velocity at which midi notes are entered with the mouse?
Its always been fine up to now but suddenly its started entering them at zero every time. The search function in Live is useless!

Re: A couple of questions about clips...
Yeah sorry guys, I'd had 1 hours sleep the night before so was typing transport when I meant transpose. I knew it didnt look right!
I've tried deleting the midi mapping on track 1's transport but it deletes it from both tracks. Quite annoying.

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.
This seems to do something as now all my pads (including the solo/mute/cue and transport controls play a midi note. However I cannot get the step sequencer to run. When I hit shift and master volume nothing happens.

A couple of questions about clips...
I have a few questions about clips concerning transport controls and the launch mode.
1. I have an audio clip on track one and a duplicate of this track on track 2 with several copies of the same audio clip but chopped into hits. I want to map a knob on my midi controller to change the transport on ...

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.
I for the life of me cannot get this working! I'm obviously doing something blatantly wrong as everyone elses seems to be fine.
Ive moved the script into my live midi scripts folder and it shows up as a control surface in my live preferences.

Re: Novation Automap Question
glitchrock_buddah you are an absolute star - this works perfectly. I had thought I had tried what you had suggested already but must have been missing a vital step. This is so handy now for trying changing between waveform types at a touch of a button!
Thanks again

Re: Novation Automap Question
Unfortunately neither of these methods work. I was trying to go down the automap route originally but have tried the suggestion with the MIDI map and have the same problem.
The problem seems to be when I press each button it switches on and off ALL the other buttons, even when I change the values ...

Novation Automap Question
I'm currently creating a custom template for Reaktor's lazerbass ensemble within Novation's automap software.

Re: Storing samples on an external hard drive
Do you think it would be better to replace the internal drive on the Mac with a 7200 hard drive and use the external drive for back ups? ( I do have another external drive but think that would be a bit fiddly having two external drives). Have been looking at a samsung 1tb one for under £50.

Re: Storing samples on an external hard drive
I've recently installed Live 8 suite onto my macbook and was wondering if storing my own sample library on an external hard drive will be a problem.
I've only got 50gb left on my macbook so I dont know whether this is a good idea as the sample library is likely to grow.
