Although this is not at all obvious from any of the manuals:

Create a dummy clip in a MIDI track, arm RECORD, and route the output to the audio or return track with AugLoop.

I install an instance of AugLoop in a Return Track. The AugLoop controller number for Tap Record is 92. I have Controller 1 and 2 on the FCB1010 set to 92 and MIDI channel 1 and have tried all permutations of on/off and values 00 and 127 and none activate Tap Record.

Like the FCB1010, Live's looper can be infuriating until you figure it out. I use a MIDI foot controller to send a MIDI note mapped to the all-in-one button. Subsequent taps loop me through the record, overdub, and play functions. A double tap stops the loop. A held tap clears the loop.

I work in stereo and all my sound goes through the PA. Guitar to amp modeler to interface to Live back to the interface and out to the PA. MIDI foot controller for volume and wah on the amp modeler and to control Live (tap tempo, track select, record arm, sends on/off, looper functions).

I've scoured the web and can't find anything to do the trick.

I tried Onyx. Things got worse. Took computer to repair shop. The hard drive was failing. Well, at least I know now. And, Onyx is not to blame.

I repaired permissions on the boot drive. I have not used system 9 or Classic mode in years.

My live set files no longer show a "created on" date, and will not launch the app. Live will open and quit about three times before hanging.

The hard drive is only two-thirds full. The catastrophic failure that led to all this consisted of a screen freeze and app lock-up. After force quit, the Live app file showed zero bytes in the finder, and the Live logo had been replaced by Mac's generic app logo. The Live logo my live set files ...

How many are there?

I've removed the /user/library/preferences/ableton folder and the /user/library/application support/ableton folder. I've removed every plugin that I installed in the last month.

What else should I remove?

Mac Powerbook G3 400Mhz, OSX 10.3.9, Live 4.1.4

No taunts, please, it's been a workhorse setup. I had a catastrophic failure that left the application file with a generic icon and zero bytes in size. After reinstalling from disc and upgrading online I should have been good to go.

I am looking for a large visual display metronome tempo sync plugin that will run with Live 4.1 under Mac OS 10.3.9.

In performance I could make good use of a silent, swinging light bar or bouncing ball.

I have conducted routine searches to no avail. Leads or solutions appreciated.
