howdy, I'm playing live wednesday at 9.30 at Loop in Melbournes CBD. We've made an AudioPad'est interface to live, so the gig is a little different :) here's the flyer http://www.users.on.net/~edan/similar/similar_flyer.jpg
and here's a few screenshots of the interface and mp3 snippets www ...
ah melbourne people. I played at Loop in the cbd with live and a weird tactile interface we made like the AudioPad. I'm playing with it again on 11th August. Where do you guys play?
thirded. I use a wacky custom interface to ableton so I could really use multiple assignments. Plus a way to unassign something (shock! right-mouse button?? or is there a quick way now?
how about using insert/backspace to nudge? that combined with cursor control of the position is so powerful and quick. I use it constantly in oldschool trackers and pianoroll would benifit greatly
yeah the logic one is probably the best. But a combo of logic/some functions in fruity and tracktion would make a good pianoroll
I think the scrub line thing in fruity is really important for me (previewing chords etc without playing)
howdy, you know the next/previous scene assignable buttons? is there anyway to get that functionality for individual tracks? ie as if you were clicking down the list in a track with your mouse, but from midi. You see a friend and I have made a custom tactile interface much like the Audiopad. Now I ...
1. What advanced pianoroll editting features can we expect?
2. Is there a scrub/preview tool for midi (and audio) clips?
Check my flash mockup for details on what I'm talking about here http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8221
forge: no, ghost clips are totally seperate to each other, so you could have a block up the end of the song that's a 'ghost' of another block at the start... the 'real' one. You can edit either and both will change. ie for beats you can lay out a whole song and decide you want to change it slightly ...
Can you have referenced/ghost patterns? eg alt+drag creates a ghost so one change in the parent block changes throughout the song. Basically I find programs extremely tedious without this... like Reason
or you could just pop the spacebar off :) hmm, I think I might mangle a keyboard just for live LIVE use, remove spacebar and windows keys, put coloured dots on the keys to correspond to clips/tracks and put masking tape on all the others and the rest of the surface so I can write on them old school ...
