Ok thanks for your answers.
It's just that i'm used to using protools, and plugins are only identified by their name and not their version.
(my friend can open the same sessions although he has different versions of some plugins)

That's kinda crazy don't you think? In pro tools/logic i can open my old sessions just fine with newer versions of my plugins. So in 5 years i will need absynth 2 till 10 resting on my computer to be able to open all my Live sessions? I can't believe that. There must be another way. Help anyone?

i'm on an intel imac.

Hi guys. I recently upgraded to absynth4 and battery 3. When opening older sessions, these don't load, instead ableton says it failed to load VST absynth2 and battery 3. It doesn't recognize the newer versions as being the same thing. How can i take care of this?
