Hi,
I would like to trigger clips within ableton using an electronic drum pad. Im thinking of getting a Roland PD-8 trigger pad.
Im assuming i may need some sort of midi interface for this, although i have very little experience with midi.
Any help on how to achieve this would be greatly ...

Syncing two Macbook Pro 2012 Retinas
Hi,
I have a 2012 Macbook Pro 15inch retina and my friend has just got himself the exact same model. I have Live 8 suite and my friend has Live 8 standard installed on his machine. It appears the best way to network these two together is wirelessly. I have set up a computer to computer network by ...

Re: From Zero8 to... (ZED R16, 01V96, SL 16.4.2)
I have the ZED R16. Its a fantastic bit of kit, very versatile. I use it mainly for tracking our band, recording jams etc. The pre's are really good considering what you get for the money. Im not bothered about lack of motorized faders but the one thing that gets on my tits is you cannot map the ...

Re: Monitors = The most important part of your studio?
Yeah they can bring them into the shop from the warehouse (dv). Just let them know what you want to try out and give them time to get them in. I did this with some keyboards there. However they couldnt get all the keyboards in I wanted to try. I cant see a problem with them getting the monitors you ...

Re: Huge bass lines?
Yeah, you can get there with a bass guitar. Preferably a 5 string to get them low notes and a real badass amp/cab with a nice eq. No problem, full on body rattlin bass if set up well, but its quite some kit to have.

Re: SOUND ENGINE BUGS ???
There is definately a problem with pdc at the moment. Im constantly having to adjust the timings to keep the groove as I add more plugins. It gets to the point where its a total pain in the arse and I give up.

Yeah, I think it may be a memory issue. How much RAM is your project using?

Re: The Not Enough Memory Issue
Yep, me too. Windows XP sp2, 2G ram. Once a set gets beond the initial stages and I start building it up into a song this happens. If I try to freeze a track, it happens. If I try to export audio, it happens. Very annoying, I cannot go any further with my music. Using a fair chunk of 3rd party VST's ...

Re: L8 stabel now?
But im more bothered by the fact it just keeps hanging on things. I'll be working on a track and the tempo will just slow down for a moment randomly.
Next time that happens, immediately go to the help menu > Get Support.

Re: L8 stabel now?
I've had one crash since upgrading to 8.2. But im more bothered by the fact it just keeps hanging on things. I'll be working on a track and the tempo will just slow down for a moment randomly. I cannot judge the groove correctly. Accasionally the cpu will jump to over 100% and distorts.
