I actually thought of something that emphasizes what I mean here in my original post.
Lets say i have a great drum track sample.. LOVE the beat, love the drive etc...
That 'sample' is only 20 seconds long. Looped, thats gonna make a pretty monotonous song. So how would I go about using it? It ...

Re: A quick question about packs - and samples.
are you a musician firstly? then you would know that if things aren't in the same key that a dissonant tone will occur. (the ugliness you speak of)
Find what keys your samples are in- link them up to a song you're creating in the same key. they will never sound off or ugly if you do this.

Re: Doing a first gig using ableton...FML
Gig complete.
It was a fiasco, lol.
There was no sound man and this random dude went behind the dj mixer and started fiddling with knobs. wtf. After yelling at the guy it was all okay. The sound kept fluctuation and I'm not sure if that was due to my interface or the sound system.
ah well, it ...

I like it, but something seems off about it. I'm going to have to use it in person to tell if it's for me.

Doing a first gig using ableton...FML
Ableton is excellent, the apc40/launchpad/nanokontrol2 combo is PERFECT.- I've previously done gigs using FL Studio and Traktor.
What I'm worrying about is that the venue is not the most suitable for a performance.
It's a nightclub that doesn't ever do live acts. They don't even have a microphone ...

Re: Fruity Formula Controller Live Equivalent?
I am trying to achieve what this fellow did at ~5:49 in his video.
What can I do in Live to achieve the same controller effect? I tried the Max for Live LFO that comes with the 9 suite and the random setting is too extreme in its jitter frequency and too subtle in its overall change, and the ...

stay in key, that's the most important thing. Unless you're doing some off kilter style of music.
I generally have 6 basic layers
drums (all over frequencies)
bass (low frequencies)
pad tones (low mid frequencies)

Re: Mono And Stereo Recording? witch one and why?
Don't know if this is a troll post, but i'll bite:
Mono is a singular audio signal being split exactly the same to both the left and right sides of the headphone/speaker system, no room for spacial effects like panning, phasing, etc. Mono music would be extremely boring to listen to and sound ...
