Ok, looks like I should have waited.
It turns out I did'nt have an up to date version of Directx (which I thought was just a visual thing) installed!

Noise coming from speakers with ableton running

Hey,
I've just had to reformat and reinstall my xp laptop and now for some reason with ableton reinstalled its making a loud noise all the time! I'm using the Sigmatel C-major HD sound card right now and yes, the drivers are installed.
Its not latency or anything and for some reason its not even ...

RAM and Latency

Hey,
So I have posted a thread about this before but for some reason I can't post another reply in it (locked?) so I'll make it brief.

To reduce the latency of ableton what would be better?;

1) Upgrading my RAM from 512mb to 2gb
or
2) Buying the M-audio USB Audiophile external sound card

Cool, I'll be buying it them.
One other question though. Its slightly different though.
I have a 5.1 Dolby Digital/DTS system that I want to connect to it through the coaxial s/pdif connection but the problem is, my 5.1 system only has a scart lead to use.

Is there any s/pdif coaxial scart ...

Hey,
Amateur question alert!

I'm running a dell inspiron laptop with ableton and other software. I have a few annoying latency issues (and an annoying asio4all issue) so i'm looking to solve it!

So, If I bought a M-Audio Audiophile Firewire external soundcard will it do much to solve these latency ...
