Re: Seen the front page? Live 9 is here :o

My assumption was based on the fact that ableton previously stated that implimentation of clip automation would be impossible without a complete rewrite.

Re: Seen the front page? Live 9 is here :o

Hurrah! Can we take this to mean that Live has undergone a complete rewrite?
I'm desperately hoping the timing issues that have affected my m4l progress have been resolved.

Re: what soft synth should i buy?

Ah, fair enough. I'd try a few demos if possible first, but good ones to try would probably include:
NI Massive
NI Absynth
Uhe ACE
Uhe Zebra
Rob papen's Albino

Not sure Sylenth really fits your description as its more of a virtual analog.

If you want to go deeper:
NI Reaktor

Re: what soft synth should i buy?

If you're looking for an additive synth, sylenth isn't for you as it's a subtractive synth.
For additive synthesis, morphine or chameleon 5000 are a couple of options.

Re: re up of live 9 video!!

There are plenty of use who use Max for Live and I would certainly hope that it will continue to be developed and supported for many many years to come. It's certainly not for everyone (although there are some cracking devices to use whether you choose to go down the programming route or not), but i...

Re: Screenshots of Live 9

I think you guys might be missing the fact that ableton themselves have not confirmed or denied ANY features of live 9 yet. This video appears to be one of a series unveiling different features within the major update that they will undoubtedly release when they are good and ready. If this was inten...

Wow. Plenty of talk of version 2 in that sonic state article, which seems a bit hasty given that they haven't even released version 1 yet.

Re: Live 8 gets 64bit support.

Hmmmmm. Tasty rumour!

Do you think that (if this is proved to be true) this will mean Live 9 is not as near as many expect? Or is it a strategy to not bury the transition to 64 bit under the headline features of a new version?

Re: Ableton Live 9 new features: what we want to see

What a load of old arse. Most of those requests are basically 'I want live to be more like logic or cubase', and as for the iOS 'necessity', does that guy have the faintest idea what he's jabbering on about? I'm sure an app would be lovely, but lemur, touch osc etc all provide plenty of functionalit...
