Vocal Production VST recommendation

I do not own anything to really mess with vocals specifically. Wondering if people had recommendations like melodyne or I think izotope has one as well...ableton has been mostly fine but I’d like to be able to mess with formants and things a little more...This is the one tool I have put off getting ...

Re: Valhalla Room vs Vintage

Got Room. Can't believe I just stuck with the stock reverb for this long. It's just so much more clean-sounding than ableton's. Even if you put it on the track lane itself (instead of a return) at 100% mix it sounds WAY better than the regular reverb. At $50 it's a steal.

Re: Sidechaining and hearing pops and clicks...

SOLUTION!!!! Ok...I fixed it. Anyone else having this problem this is what worked for me.

On the compressor you have to set it to RMS and Peak...then you make whatever adjustments you need to make.
I'm able to get some serious sidechaining going on now without any noise or issue. When I switched ...

Re: "Must have" plugins for EDM music?

I was given a copy of Lethal to process into NKS for Komplete Kontrol. It's like a poor mans Nexus and for EDM sounds it's pretty good. Sounds great and there is a lot of content and really aimed at the user who likes to play sounds, not design them (it has no synthesis at all).

yeah I got this ...

Re: Valhalla Room vs Vintage

thanks guys and girls! I'm probably going to go with Room then to start...CPU shouldn't be a huge problem I actually just got one of the new iMac's (the 5 year old MacBook Air wasn't cutting it any more haha) and that's helped a ton with processing...otherwise I can just freeze/bounce the tracks to ...

Valhalla Room vs Vintage

So...I've tried (somewhat successfully) to work with the Live stock reverb, but it seems to give a weird color to the sound even on low Dry:Wet settings or as a return. I have heard some great things about Valhalla products, but I'm wondering what the opinions on their Room vs Vintage products to ...

Re: Bass layering/panning

Za that's exactly what I'm talking about...and I think that's what I hear on a lot of modern tracks...there are these other oscillators/patches that i definitely hear in stereo that are following or identical really to the bass line...then the hum of basically that octave down sub bass sine wave ...

Re: Drums. VSTS, Sample Packs reccomend?

Don't know how you'd feel about this with a trap track but Nicky Romero's KICK synth plugin is only $40 and you pseudo-synthesize your own kick...easy to use and Understandable customization, but if you don't wanna tweak that much, the presets are pretty good as well...the kicks I've made lend more ...

Re: Bass layering/panning

yea i'm talking like 200 or 300-1k being essentially "not" in mono...basically to add character more so to the actually bassline rather than the feel of the bass...as I said, that sub-bass saw and kick are obviously going to be in mono to keep the heart of the mix going...but I hear bass lines in ...

Bass layering/panning

this is seriously a question I cannot get an answer on...after watching several youtube videos and reading too many forums...for the bass line (really in any track), I keep hearing "MUST BE IN MONO" but any vid you watch or listen to many different types of music, the only part I can truly say is ...

Re: "Mastering" at home, the chain, limiting

it's not even so much about competing with them...just that i don't wanna have to blast the speakers if i put on a track of my own after a different track you know? from what I can tell, it seems as though I'm approaching it in at least a mildly gentler way than many people....? that's really my ...

"Mastering" at home, the chain, limiting

So let's be honest, a lot of us are just "bedroom producers" having fun making our own music, I know I personally am doing the "mastering" at home before I post/"finish" a song...now granted I'm a super newb, and only have 2 songs posted, but you can (or at least I can) tell the second one is miles ...

Re: Drum Tools 02 vs 01

Any indications whether this is a "raw" sound library with sounds that can be moulded into something else, almost anything else, or if it's a library of glorious ready-made samples you can use as is and doesn't lend itself necessarily to further developments? I certainly prefer the former ...

Re: Drum Tools 02 vs 01

Since I don't have an insane number of sample packs mine is just in my "user library"...they already separated it into folders like "punchy" "machine" etc
