I've been midi mapping certain clips to the 8th column of launchpad buttons in session mode so that I have constant access to these clips as I move around my set.

However, now I obviously run into the problem of Ableton still moving 8 columns to the right ...

I want to be able to ride track automation with a midi controller, but was wondering whether it would be possible to change the latency to a point where the midi signal is being recorded about 1 second behind what i'm listening to.

Is there a way to warp an audio track with the tempo markings of another?

The scenario is that I recorded an artist's song draft with them just playing guitar and singing.

I have imported the 2 tracks to experiment with and the rhythm guitar is warped very well, whilst the singing isn't at all.
