it will follow the global quantize setting, so if the transport is running and you've got it set to something like 4 bars, 8 bars... could take a while.

it's not lightning fast but it's surely faster than what you describe

Thanks, that seemed to help. Hopefully my forthcoming computer upgrade ...

New to Ableton but loving it, except, is it supposed to take 5 to 10 seconds to hear a clip play that I'm previewing from the file browser?

Is there anything that I can do to speed this up?
