Re: Push 2 - 3rd Party Plugins Custom Mappings

This has been brought up several times and I totally agree with you. I would like to see a browsing / database system like NKS as well. Unfortunately, Ableton have not shown any interest to let people use their Push the same way they can use it with Ableton’s own devices.

Re: Visualization Kit for 3rd Party plugins (and your votes for which ones!)

This is a fine idea once 3rd party plugins are properly supported. But they're not. Yes, 3rd party tools like Ubermap or Preditor will finally allow you to name and sort parameters the way you want and the way it should be integrated in Live. But there's an even more basic problem/bug and it's hidde...

Re: is the browser 'sound menu' too restrictive or bad organised

It's lovely having a Reverb folder with "Ableton Reverb", "Eventide Blackhole", "Valhalla Room" all at the same level. Or a Synth folder with "Ableton Wavetable", "Ableton Operator" and "Reveal Sound Spire" :-) But this method does make a clear cut between the pure instances and their presets, righ...

Re: is the browser 'sound menu' too restrictive or bad organised

I found myself overwhelmed and I've adopted a minimalist/ less-is-more(-creative) mindset. This is how I've organized my personal library. Each plugin (native/third party) needs to have has a good reason to be there. This is my way of "hiding" some of Abletons native options as well: https://www.dr...

I also lost all my Collections when I went from 10.0.1 to 10.0.2. Luckily I had a backup and will stay on 10.0.1 until this is fixed.

Re: Most "push friendly" vsts ( even with preditor )

Here is my experience. I agree that simple synths work best with Push 2. Complex ones like Absynth or Bazille are better controlled with a mouse. So I tried a lot of the simple ones: Synth1, Tyrell N6, NI Monark, TAL Noizemaker, Podolski, Zebralette, Triple Cheese, Repro-1. All but one suffer from t...

Points 1 to 7 in this post, please: viewtopic.php?p=1712556#p1712556
Otherwise control of 3rd party devices stays an unreliable hassle that is in the way of an effective workflow.

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)

It's a massive disappointment to me that we have to try and use third party tools to do what should be built into Live. It's 2016 for god's sake not 1980. Live should include a tool that does the following: 1. Allows the user to select a VST. 2. Reads all of the controls that the VST exposes - incl...

Re: Push and Native Instrument Presets

Never had that problem, I have NI monark & Synth1 with no issues, I have my NI presets racked up within NI Komplete Kontrol as well, as can browse them all easily from Push2. Interesting. Would you try the following? - load Monark - control OSC1WAVE via Push slowly over the whole range back and for...

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)

It's not clearer to me now, but I got the most important message. If not enough people complain about a bug it won't get fixed. What I don't get is that Ableton don't see this major hindrance to controlling 3rd party devices as an impediment to selling more units. Look at ebay, it's flooded. Or are ...

Re: Push and Native Instrument Presets

I think it is fair to mention a bug, that has been confirmed by Ableton support. When controlling 3rd party plugins, it can happen that, while controlling certain parameters, there is a mismatch between Push 2's screen and the plugin / it's GUI. I found NI Monark, u-he ACE, u-he Podolski and Synth 1...

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)

In my case the bug was confirmed too by the (very friendly) support agent which, according to him, bumped its priority. However, no further details about if or when it would be resolved could be made.
