I recorded a live set with a ratty guitar solo over it.
What I have done is recorded the solo to the song, on Abelton live 9, and then spliced the original at a later date.
So the original sounds tip top, but my bit sounds terrible. the bass drops out.
It sounds okay, not bad for a beginner.

Thanks for your reply.
Now that we are talking, what do you think about time sharing? Hahaha just kidding.
Is there such a thing as volume equalisation?
I’m a total noob to this.

What is wrong with this recording and can I fix it?
I recorded this on Ableton live 9.
The basses seem to thump, then cut off when they get too loud.
It sounds ok through headphones but you can hear it when I play through a speaker.
I don't know how to attach a file to this forum comment but check out the link here.

THANKS FOR your reply.
How do you navigate in the arrangement view? I have tried everything to grab the cursor and fast forward or back but it doesn't work.

basic navigating in session view.
I'm trying to over dub a section via a guitar to a track and I don't want to have to start the track from the beginning every time.
How do you forward or back a track in session view?
Is it better to do it in arrangement view?

How do you navigate the clip playing in arrangement view?
For eg, when the clip is playing how do you skip to one part and go back to a previous bit?
Is there a link to a tutorial that explains this rudimentary task?

Re: Laying down a base track. drop outs
Thanks for your reply.
this Ableton is really complicated.
I turned off that warp thing. clip and long samples.
seems to be better.
Ive left the sample rate at 44100
sr and pitch conversion is normal.
I didn't do anything with the latency in was 0 samples and out was 4096.
It's not critical but ...

Re: Laying down a base track. drop outs
I have 2 options
1 Drop and drag the wav file from my computer
2 plug the iphone into the focusrite 2i2 and record it that way.
what buffer do you recommend?
The wav file is doing all sorts of things. The speed slows down half way through.
Which do think is the best way to lay down the track ...

Hi there
I have recorded a track with my overdub onto it, and I laid down a part of the song but the section is too short and I want to
add more of the original song onto it.
I want to add more to the beginning of the track.
any idea how to do it?
Im running ableton 9 lite

Live 9 lite not authorizing
Ive re downloaded live 9 lite
and entered in the product key 10 times
but it's still saying it's not authorized.
My copy came with a Focusrite 212
It even says that the last sucessful authorization was on 31 dec 2016
It keeps sending me in circles, the app sends me to the website and the website ...

Re: Echo is louder than the original signal
Any of the above.... or is the Reverb used as an insert effect on the same track as the sound/instrument (note) and the Dry/Wet is set too high? The Dry/Wet is the balance between having only the original signal (0%) and having only Reverb and no original signal (100%). If you set the Dry/Wet too ...
