With a budget of €2000,= I would go Apple. I'm not an Apple fanboy, but with Apple you have the best chance of getting a good enough laptop for audio.

Then on the other hand: because of the problems with Win11 anyway, and not being an Apple fanboy, I switched to an Akai Force.

And yes, got an email from Akai Pro saying they are going to update soon on the Force….. Never expected that!

Per channel I see no way, per clip it goes like this:

Click and drag to select the notes you want to quantize or press Ctrl+A (Windows) / Cmd+A (Mac) to select all notes in the clip. Right-click (Windows) / Ctrl-click (Mac) on the selected notes and choose Quantize Settings... from the context ...

Sorry it was holding SHIFT and arm the tracks you want at least in my version of Live (10 Suite).

I haven't used Live for a while, but I thought it was to hold control and rec arm for that track(s).

As moving to Linux brings a whole new pallette of problems, and Win 11 isn't an option for me in October '25, I have more or less decided to move to an Akai Professional Force ecosystem. Not ideal too for everything, but as far as I can see now, good enough for my modest needs.

Given that you record through a decent audio interface, and still have some latency try to adjust the start- and endpoint of a clip. If you know the latency value, you can use this info to adjust it everytime you record an external synth.

For this reason I stopped using external gear quiet a while ...

Maybe I find this too costly because my wages didn't raise for five years while most of the food and energy bills have doubled...


That's unfortunately the case for everyone :cry: Ableton's employees included.
