My XPS 17 doesn't have a PC card slot, so looks like my trusty Echo I/O has been made redundant

Any recommendations for a similar USB replacement for the I/O? Is it worth waiting for a USB 3.0 solution?

Until Live allows time signature changes, you're gonna have to fudge it.

The easiest way for your 4/4 and 3/4 problem is to make the master time sig 12/8. For the 4/4 put the downbeats on 1,4,7,10. For 3/4 the downbeats are 1,5,9.

So, I use a PODxt for recording gtr via USB, then monitor via Echo soundcard, but the latency is all over the shop.

The example in the manual assumes you are using the same soundcard for the input and output of the signals, but this is not the case here.
