I have the same type of BPM problems and I've decided that Live is just not the product for me, as far as DJing is concerned.

Live is great - *Really Great* - if you have a predefined set all within the same BPM range. Also, you need to spend a couple of minutes at least working on each track ...

Using a Macbook Pro with Leopard and would like to install & use the Supatrigga Audio Unit, but I can't figure it out!

I've downloaded the file, and the only thing I can think of to do is install it in the VST folder and let Live Pick it up. That doesn't work, though.

Just bought an Axiom 25 and I am loving it.

I read the manual on how to send program change messages to your software host. I'm curious - How do you all use program change in Ableton Live?

I've used the M-Audio X-Session Pro. It's got a cheap feel to it, but it'll do the trick.

Also, I've found that for simple A-B mixing, Native Instruments' Traktor DJ Studio is a better fit. Although once you get into looping, beat matching & such, Live suddenly becomes the tool of choice.

You'll find that the work needed to warp your house & techno music is not as much as what would be needed for other non-electronic type of music.

What kind of functionality are you looking for for your non-warped set?

Lets say you suddenly come up with an idea for the next song, but it is a different tempo - so you just want it to play "As Is". You bring it into Live, then you want to poke around to find a good cue point. If it is warped ...

You can do it, but you lose most of the functionality of live. All of the beat sync effects become useless...

That's what I thought! I've been using NI Traktor for these types of sets since you still have a lot more flexibility in navigating around in the song.

It seems to me like DJing in Ableton Live is useful only if you are working with Warped files of songs in a common tempo.
