Re: Ableton Live 8 Running horribly slow on Mac Pro 8 Core

I still have the same issue with 8.0.2, if I have my live window on my macbook's external 24" monitor fullscreen, Live slows down so much it becomes unusable. If I just resize the live screen to about the same size it would be on the macbook's own screen .. it runs smoothly. I suppose this isn't the...

Live 8 Suite - Missing parts of the library.

Hi. I just installed Live 8 Suite and while I was exploring the suite library, I noticed that I am missing some loops that are mentioned in the Live 8 Suite specs. The Cycling 74 loop folder has 4 loops (not 400mb worth :o ) and I'm missing the Zero-G loop folder all together? Maybe I'm doing someth...

Re: Warping video tutorial for Ableton 8

Nice video, I'm sure that will clear things up for people. Though I do find it funny that so much of using the new warping method relies relies on holding shift, which merely makes it act like it was in version 7 in the first place. Im with Tarekith on this one.. very good vid and it did clear out ...

Re: Live 8 - Sluggish interface

Seems that other people are having issues with their macs. Check http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=111878 . My display card is that rubbish Intel (gma3000?) or something, but Live should not require a better display card to display it's non-existent graphics :) Maybe your GeForce 9600 com...

Re: Ableton Live 8 Running horribly slow on Mac Pro 8 Core

Hi, I've got exactly the same problem with Live 8, the interesting thing is it only seems to run really slowly when I've got Live stretched across more than one screen. As soon as I resize the window onto a single screen it runs perfectly. Live 7 runs fine regardless of how many screens are used. A...

Re: Live 8 - Sluggish interface

Ok.. It seems that the Live 8 GUI lags heavily only when I use it on the external 24" monitor, but when I use live 8 only on the laptop without the monitor connected, the GUI is fine. Live 7 on the other hand performs just like it should on the 24" monitor. Strange. EDIT: If I keep live 8 window sma...

Re: Is it true? Is the old warp mode not available in 8?

I don't think it's a matter of the "engine" as such. The presentation of the warp function, while being very good for certain purposes, is very slow and confusing for other.. I have been using Live since version 2 and the way I work with warp markers is something like riding a bike, developed over y...

Re: That's it. I'm going back to 7

Im already thinking of a refund .. live 8 is broken in so many ways.. I tried to use it now for three days and it is completely unusable for me.. maybe I'll skip this version...

Re: Live 8 - Sluggish interface

very odd.. I mean _everything_ is updating slower.. and when I arm a track for recording and start the actual recording, the whole interface with meters and such updates like at 5fps!! now if I do the same with the same project in live 7, everything is fine, no glitches whatsoever :(

Oh please bring back the old warping functionality.

I am getting nose bleeds with this new warp functionality in Live 8. While I can see it's good points, the old way of warping is far more familiar and makes sense.. Changing fundamental functionality that people have been using for years is difficult, but why not haven an option for "old fashioned" ...

Live 8 - Sluggish interface

Hi. I noticed a rather annoying "feature" after I upgraded to Live 8 yesterday; while the scaling of the interface seems like a nice addition to the feature list, it seems to slow down the update rate for the entire Live GUI. I mean comparing to Live 7 where all faders, dials and graphigs are lightn...
