Essentially, like a monome, but really, I dont need the step-sequencer functions. I really just want to have light feedback when triggering loops, and maybe the ability ...

Re: Run Ableton Live 8 on LINUX!

Im not angry. haha. I just type 100+ wpm, and tend to get stuff down quick and in great numbers. So, until someone else steps in that actually is a programmer to clear it up, quit your belly achin. BTW. Here are the screen shots you asked for. http://repository.quicktech209.com/Resources/Screenshots...

Re: Run Ableton Live 8 on LINUX!

Well, dammit, I cannot get the dmg to mount. Although, on my linux machine, the files in the DMG are listed as java, no C++, so now it looks like we both may be wrong to some degree. hahaha.

If anyone with a mac could clear this up in a technical aspect, that would be loverly.

Re: Run Ableton Live 8 on LINUX!

Lol, not a single dammed thing you pasted backed up your claim, period. and on top of that, the MAC version of Ableton Live is JUST the windows version, that is running wine as a translation layer. There is nothing wrong with being wrong, but there's something pretty funny about spending pages of p...

Re: Run Ableton Live 8 on LINUX!

Mac OSX, if that is what you are referring to, is actually unix (which linux is based off of), and on top of that, the MAC version of Ableton Live is JUST the windows version, that is running wine as a translation layer. I'm not a coder, but I know enough about what's going on to know you're dead w...

Re: Run Ableton Live 8 on LINUX!

After reading this thread I was wondering if you could help me out... So for my laptop I have a Sony vaio (I don't have the specs on hand) and it runs windows vista. For the most part when running ableton live, it's complete shit. After a certain amount of time working on a track it just craps out ...

Re: Nervous to reorganize my sample library...

go thru the important tracks/projects and do a 'collect all and save'...a copy of all sounds and such will be brought to the project file then reorganize as needed, no missing files Oh yeah. totally forgot about that. Kinda. I always do that by default anyway. haha. Its the first thing I do after s...

Re: Run Ableton Live 8 on LINUX!

You're doing it right DJYoshaBYD. Thanks for sharing your good stuffs. No problem. I got PLENTY more where this came from One thing that I noticed, is depending on whether or not you have an aftermarket graphics card (nvidia, ATI, etc) and desktop effects running (also, it depends on whether or not...

Re: Nervous to reorganize my sample library...

So lately my sample library has grown considerably and I've been noticing for a long time that where I had originally saved my sample folder was not ideal. I want to reorganize my sub-folders as well a bit. I'm worried that the songs I've created using these samples will be a massive bitch to get w...

Re: Run Ableton Live 8 on LINUX!

Some interesting stuff about MS that is fairly sad for such a big and trusted company. http://greatmindsoftoday.com/2011/05/16/microsoft-vs-apple-a-lose-lose-battle/ And no matter what, MS operating systems are super "un-costomizable" unless you want to dig through the system folders and registry.
