Thanks all. I guess I will just stick to the Live limiter to keep my master from redlining during tracking/messing around.
On a separate note, I've found Ozone and Neutron to be crazy CPU heavy too, which in the case of Neutron can be a real bummer if you're trying to use it on a few tracks to ...

Latency from master track effect plugins
I'm having problems with latency while recording when I have any VST plugins (eg. Fabfilter L2) on the master track. This seems to cause latency even at the smallest buffer sizes (with sub 10ms overall calculated latency) and no other plugins on any channels. Affects both audio and MIDI recording ...

Re: Upgrade to standard from suite.
Okay great. Thanks for the comprehensive response!
Pretty sweet if from within 9 Standard I'll still have access to all of 8 Suite, especially instruments. In any case, as long as I can still open 8 with everything there I'm happy.
Thanks for your help.
Dave

Upgrade to standard from suite.
I'm currently running Live 8 Suite. I'd like to upgrade to 9 Standard as I'm unsure if I actually need the suite but don't want to lose all the suite content for 8 for now, just in case.
Will I still be able to use full Live 8 Suite after installing 9 Standard? Not at the same time of course ...

MIDI map snap to grid?
Has anyone ever done this? I'd like to use the USER button on my Faderport to toggle 'snap to grid' on and off but as there's no button in Ableton for this I can't map to it the usual way. Any thoughts?

Re: Alesis Control Pad Availability
Yeah I second that. There don't seem to be any alternatives around either, there's the alesis performance pad (no USB there, only midi out and I'm kind of running out of ports..) and plenty of other preloaded pad controllers but i don't need any of that as all my samples are in Ableton. Only other ...

Should the Launchpad scene buttons light up?
I often use the launchpad to trigger whole scenes in a massive live set and it would make keeping track of where I am a lot easier if the scene launch button for the currently playin scene was lit up. At least as long as I don't trigger a single slot from a different scene.

Re: Ableton 8.1 and Behringer bcr2000 on Mac
Also, if I press DUMP, the controller goes into some kind of preset mode, with pre-assigned functions for the knobs. Which is at least something but I haven't managed to get it to work reliably either so...

Re: Ableton 8.1 and Behringer bcr2000 on Mac
I've got similar problems with exactly the same setup (Live 8.1, Intel Macbook, 10.5.8)
I managed to get everything to work but if I don't send any signals from the BCR2000 (as in, if I don't touch any of the knobs) for about 2 minutes, the whole thing stops working. Ableton can still see the ...

nightmare. i'm running live on a macbook so windows probably isn't the problem. for once. i'm getting the feeling in my case it must be the core audio drivers for the mbox 2. maybe the compatibility issue with leopard. or some other compatibility issue with live 7 and the mbox 2. who knows.
anyway ...

leopard, mbox 2, live, audio problems
i have a similar problem with my mbox 2 on leopard. the audio doesn't come back at all though until i either restart live or change the output from mbox to internal and back.
MIDI on the other hand seems to work fine now even when the audio is gone.
any news on how to fix this anyone?
