Anyone heard any dirt re: the Alesis Control Pad drum trigger pad? These were announced at the 2006 NAMM, but the availability date keeps getting pushed back, now I'm seeing March 25th everywhere. Have they been shipping and selling out, or did something go drastically wrong somewhere? Seems like a useful tool to have around the studio for $200:

Yeah I second that. There don't seem to be any alternatives around either, there's the alesis performance pad (no USB there, only midi out and I'm kind of running out of ports..) and plenty of other preloaded pad controllers but i don't need any of that as all my samples are in Ableton. Only other way is to spend over £500 and get something that lets you load your own samples. Unless I have missed something?
Re: Alesis Control Pad Availability
Roland has similar products available.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

Yeah but nothing below £400 and nothing purely midi controller
Re: Alesis Control Pad Availability
I vaguely remember something along the lines of "you get what you pay for" and in the world of shit you are going to bang on I don't know if you want to take the chance.

I have one, works OK actually. Not the greatest but the price is right. Defintely not a live tool but for studio work, its fine, add in the missing notes by hand
