Re: How to make a bass like Paranoid London

Very nice, http://www.maxforlive.com/library/devic ... skinnerbox, directly download it

And yes the sound is hard to archieve with VSTs, but another thought, if somebody copy the groove, the sound, the instruments, where the fun of creating music would be?

Re: How to make a bass like Paranoid London

I got an Roland TB3. Analogue (or semi-analogue in this case) makes a big diffence for the/(my) ear. A software bass is more static, thats not really an advantage for such groovy basslines. I would wonder how close you could get? But on the other hand, you have to work at least with midi, dont think...

Re: Ableton 10 about to purchase

For the start, instead of push, you can also buy a cheap midi controller and midi keyboard. I prefer splitting the functions into more then one controller.

And Standard is good but Suite! is everything haha.
You miss the time, where they gave a discount a half year ago.. :(

Re: Ableton 10 about to purchase

The software is only as good as the user, so you need experience  Ableton has everything you need, with Max4live you also have more than you need. Just experimenting. A nice external sound card is recommended. And i prefer hardware instead of mouse, for workflow and feeling. Sample Packs aren'...

Re: User library not showing - Ableton Live 10

For Live 9 there was an equivalent problem, which could solved by: {username)/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 9.0.2/Database and remove the "files.db" file from it (recommend to not trashing it right away, only after the core library is successfully rebuilt) In another post they say (never ...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

https://image.ibb.co/bQhWJn/Scale.jpg Use the Scale in EQ Eight to work transitions out (e.g. in the kick drum) and duplicate the EQ Eight (e.g. to the bass), set the Scale to -100% and you perfectly reduce the freguncies which you make bigger in the kick drum. Great for making sounds works togethe...

Re: File/loop size for Live Set? Less large or many small loops?

Without knowing anything about your actual laptop specs other than "My Laptop is shit" it's hard to say if upgrading the drive to SSD would work for you. It's a pretty "easy" thing to do if you have some knowledge with computers and cloning a drive isn't a huge issue. I know it's very easy and it w...

Re: File/loop size for Live Set? Less large or many small loops?

I´m exporting the finished track into 5 different stems, then load the 5 files in a new ableton file, there i cut(consolidate) it into 4 bar length. Then i import the Loops in my Live Set. No warping or some changes on the files, only some few FX on the track, but the RAM is at max. 30% I think, it ...

Re: File size for Live Set? Less large or many small files?

My Laptop is shit, but everything works while making music, so when there are much more tracks and VST plugins. Also when i'm near to the 80% RAM, everything is fine. The Interface is a NI Komplete 6, i dont think this makes the problems. Only in my live set i got so much drive overload and now much...

File/loop size for Live Set? Less large or many small loops?

Hello, My problem is that i made a live set, 25Tracks(Songs), 1.5 hours, 1100 Samples (One Sample is 4Bars/5 Tracks, while transitions up to 7 tracks) and thera are crackle and overloads/scattering and lots of stuff. So my question is, is it better with many small or with less large files / stems? I...
