So far my music production shifted to 100% Live (before 99% Maschine 2 / Mk3 and 1% Studio One 3).

Am I happy? Far from. So much is a mess in Live. It seems whatever competitor feature has been implemented and then the devs stopped exactly there. Why do more?

Why is this? Any fix?

So I record a clip to audio. Then I want to
a) drag this clip into a 3rd party vst
b) open clip in explorer or project manager and drag it from there
c) open clip in explorer and copy it somewhere else (windows says file is locked cause opened in live)
None of this works ...

I have a softsynth MIDI mapped and hardwired to my external control surface (actually a synth itself but that got nothing to do with it). The MIDI mapping is done & saved within the softsynth, not with Live.
